Blame the Sun, not the Alcohol! (Camayan Beach Resort, Subic Bay)

Camayan Beach Resort, Subic, Zambales – I’m not drunk, I’m just really slutty.

Taken out of context, that first line could mean so many things. Hehe. But all I mean is, I’m tomato red these days and people always seem to think I just took some shots or something. We’re blaming the wrong thing here guys… Truth is, I’ve been out and about sun-whoring the past couple of weeks. It’s the sun, okay? Not some man named Jack or Jose. It will take a while to get my original pale color back. Gotta deal with my permanent blush for a bit.

I started summer early this year. For the reason that my cousin Joie was here for the month of January. And boy, was she thirsty for adventure. True enough, there are so many things to see here in the Philippines. Every time I go some place, I kinda feel I’m just getting started. #itsmorefuninthephilippines right?

This day trip to Subic is but one of our many escapades during her almost month-long stay. From left to right: Vianca, Joie, me posing for Victoria (not Victoria’s Secret ha, Victoria Court), and Nikka.

Back when we were younger, we went to Subic twice a year, so I never really expected anything much to do or see.

But quite honestly, upon seeing this resort, I thought, this is better than how I remember it.

The sand isn’t totally white, but it was light enough to give the impression that it’s clean and all – this kind of stuff matters to a lot methinks.

These are the shower rooms – not fancy, but could serve as an indication that the resort is well-maintained.

Here’s something really interesting: turtle nests! I appreciate that they preserve and take care of these things. Take note of the hatching date. It’s expected to hatch from this week until the second week of March. So if you want to be able to see this kind of once-in-a-lifetime thing, you know where to go.

Nice view of the beach (check!), camera one (check!)…

Camera two (check!)…

You know the rest. Cam-whoring at it’s best. Why not!

Our main man, Alexis.

The mistress of the camera, Nikka.

And, still longing for adventure, Joie.

Vianca got her own time to shine in the first of February.

Recommendations: Will I go back to Camayan? Yes, definitely. It’s one of those places that are near and quite affordable for a quick escape from the city. It’s just 2-3 hours away from Manila with the new SCTEX route – even a day trip would suffice if you’re suddenly craving for a little saltwater and sun. On its list of activities are swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, and even biking – we tried this, and I will be sharing our experience with that soon enough. Just beside the resort is the Ocean Adventure, which you ought to check out as well. As mentioned, it is well-maintained and is on the overall, a good place to hangout in either with family or friends.
