Stoned at Malasimbo

MALASIMBO 2013 –  It’s been a week since and I’m still raving about this charming 25-year-old singer, Joss Stone, one of the main performers in this year’s Malasimbo Music Festival. I wasn’t even a fan prior to hearing about her scheduled performance, but I’ve heard good stuff about the festival itself so I made sure to be present this year, even just for one night.

Joss Stone performed in the evening of March 3. She was supposed to start her set at 10:00 pm, but setup took forever. Forever. But when she did go out and flash her smile, all annoyance from the waiting faded away. Boy, she exceeded all expectations. Well, mine at least. I expected a lovely singer (check!) with a wonderful voice (check!) but got way more than that. The woman is an audience charmer, and – I guess this is really what got me – she performed with bare feet.

I enjoyed that night so much, I’m still Joss Stoned high as we speak.

Here are a couple of photos taken by Aesa San Pascual, borrowed for this blog. Enjoy.

And finally, for your viewing pleasure, here’s Joss Stone singing Tell Me What We’re Gonna Do at Malasimbo 2013:
