I was supposed to entitle this post “Travel Diet Tip #1: Don’t go to Vietnam”. Because I think I gained a few pounds on my way back to the Philippines. And to think that I was there for only three days! Our first lunch in Hanoi was in Quan An Ngon.

The Ha Long Bay Cruise must have been one of my favorite parts of our Hanoi trip. As part of the tour, we stopped over at Thien Cung Cave (translated as “The Cave of Heavenly Palace”).
The Ha Long Bay Cruise was part of the Groupon package we bought for the Vietnam trip. We took the one-day cruise, although there’s an option to have it overnight. It’s just enough to actually experience the place and take photos of the beautiful scenery.
Hoan Kiem Lake or “Lake of the Restored Sword” is probably the most scenic spot in Hanoi (that I know of). When we went there, it was – no kidding – literally filled with people. Not in an I-can’t-breathe kind of way, but in a this-is-just-such-a-nice-place-to-stay kind. Despite such, it is still clean and picturesque.
Temples again? Well, yeah. In almost every country we go to, it is almost a must to see a temple or church or two. Religion is a very huge part of culture. I am not religious, mind you, but I find that getting a feel of a people’s religion is essential to understanding who they are. […]
